6/30/2010

Today we continued our rough drafts in class. I only had half a page, so I had a lot of work to do. The first twenty minutes I had a tough time thinking about what to write, but after reading my entry over and over, I finally was able to have a more constant idea on how to write my paper. Halfway through class, Dr. Rivera told us that two dates on our class calendar would change and that she would make the changed on the schedule. Now that class is ending I have almost 3 pages for my descriptive essay, so that means I'm almost done!

Today

I got off work late, so I was a tad bit late for class. Once I sat down, we went over the stages for our descriptive essay. I changed my essay again. I've written a little over 2 pages. I've finished my essay, I just need my partner to check my work. Hopefully I typed everything properly.

Descriptive (Scribble Draft #1)

Today was the continuation of our Descriptive Essay "scribble draft" #1. So far I have done a page and a half, and now I'm stuck.  Hopefully next class I will be able to complete the two pages required. Then do some nips and tucks "here and there" to finalize the essay. The class has been great so far, I really hope to better my writing skills so I could be more confident with writing.

Day 4 here in en100w-11. We worked on the same draft and tried to finish it. I'm having a little hard time to finish mine. It's like nothing is going through my head tonight. Well I'm just going to work on it later tonight.

todays class 8/30

Today went by fast to me. I think because i was so concentrated on my draft i am writting. I am still trying to get fimiliar about this class, although i am enjoying this class. I enjoy the quietness due to the fact where i work its noisy. This is very relaxing to me. Helps me to concentrate on my assignments. I just hope my essay if good enough. I haven't wrote an essay in a while.

Today in class, we were continuing with our descriptive essay. I was going to continue on with the subject I chose last meeting but changed my mind and started on different topic. Who knows, when I come here for the next meeting, I might change topic again. I was struggling to get up to 2 page essay. I tried to change size of the letters and number of spaces. But overall, everythings cool. Today went by quick, now it's time to go home and get some dinner. See ya.

Change is good

What we did today in our class is to write our draft two of our essay. A lot of the things i wrote changed and the essay is shaping up to a good A, I hope. Most of the class was just quiet and concentrating to their essay. Just to make my blog a bit interesting I put up the picture.

Day Four (Cose)

Today was an interesting day. I learn some thing like indenting, paragraphing, and that I have to space bar twice after a period. I think now that she actually correcting us and answering more of our question, I just might be able to pass her class. well bye for now people

Tonight was more of working then talking. When we came in, we each had to get a folder and write our name on it (grammatically right). After we did that, Dr. Rivera told us to start on our second rough draft. I admit that I am not done wit my second rough draft, but i am totally blank right now. For sure i will work on it tomorrow and hope everything turns our great. Until next class time..

Day....

Today was a pretty slow day. So what we did today in writing class was just continue on our descriptive essay and that's it for today. Haha. Well i hope my essay is good and it makes me pass the class. Tata for now :)

4th day.

Today was pretty chill though we did our 2nd draft which is totally hard. I need inspiration! Haha. I just put whatever.. :)

Got it going!

I got my draft done over the weekend, and today we continued on our draft. I thought I was done, but I forgot that the essay had to be at least two pages long. (Scratching my head again). I sat back, talked with my classmate, and got some ideas. I then added a couple more paragraphs.

08302010...writing

Today we got folders for our writing assignments and all our assignments will be put in these folders. Then all we did was continued to write our essays / drafts. I just kept on writing until I couldn’t think of what else to write. Then I went back and read over it rearranging some sentences and putting them into paragraphs. Last I printed the draft and put a copy into our folder then turned it in.

What we did in class today was continue on our (Descriptive) Draft from last week. had a few changes that needed to be fixed, so im working on it. really happy with the topic i choose. over all the class was good.

Hi there everyone, as you can see I'm behind a class day on my blog! Ergh, what a way to start a new semester. I got so caught up on my descriptive essay that I forgot to put in an entry! So it's a new day a new blog behind! Today we're continueing our essays, I can say I am almost done. I'm not completely satisfied but eventually with the right criticism I get I'll eventually love it! so until next class...siyonara!

EN100W-11

Our last session was great! We're starting on our Descriptive Essay. I was a bit frustrated on what topic to pick, but I narrowed it down to two people whom I admire the most for their accomplishments. I know I can only pick one, so Im' just gonna write two essays and choose from there. It's more work for me, but it's worth it.

Our first writing assignment

Today in class, we were told that our first writing assignment would be a descriptive essay. We were asked to pick a topic to write about. It took me a long time to decide on what to write, and I still think that I might change it later on. It's a start so we'll see how it goes. Maybe I can write more when I get home. We were also supposed to pick a partner and read their rough drafts and make minor corrections on it. That is pretty much what we did today!

Tonight was fun, and I wrote about my favorite subject - food. I got to expain the diferent ways to prepare the dish, but I need more work in my writing skills.

   My first day in EN-100W. I am very nervous. I am more than likely the youngest here. I am still trying to get use to the environment. The other students seem nice. We started by discussing as a class about a descriptive essay. Now we must write one. Today I took a test, a long test. Started writting my essay about Bellow's Beach in Hawaii. I don't know much about writting essay's, although I love to read. I hope I can strive for excellence in this class, especially working before class and after. The requirements for my classes and jobs are intemidating. This class will teach me alot!

third class @en100

First thing we did today was learn more about descriptive essay. Then we had to think about what topic we wanted to write about. After we chose a topic we had to make a rough draft and have someone edit it. Tonight's class was pretty productive. till nest time...

Essay #1 Descriptive!

First time ever "Blogging". Today's, assignment was to choose a descriptive topic and write and essay about the topic.  Writing was never my forte so, well see how it goes.  I choose to write about "the beach", because we basically live on one "Guam". Describing the beach and making bullets to describe the beach was easy. Turing it into an essay will be much harder. But, I hope I'll do well. Crossing Fingers.. :)

Today we are working on our first writing assignment and I'm having a hard time.

Day Three

Choosing a Descriptive topic was kind of hard. Honestly, I never know what to write. I finally chose a topic. But, the peer editing wasn't so bad. Because, I like that someone else that's going through the same thing I am is editing my paper. I mean other than the instructor, of course. Overall, tonight's class was pretty successful to say the least.

Day Three

Day 3 here in en100w11. We Discuss different kinds of Essay Topics, after that, we make our first draft. I'm having a hard time to choose what topics do I need to write. But I think I got a good one. Then Dr. ask us to print our draft and exchange it with our partners to edit it.

Is this, third day of meeting? I lost count. Well anyway, today we had to write a descriptive essay and exchange the paper with other person to evaluate each other. Thought was interesting. We also had one new student joined our class. I think his name is Jarod, maybe I spelled wrong, if I did my apology. I would love to sit here and type up some more, but it's already 1930. Time mangement

Today, a lot of my classmate was in a hurry. Almost all of them was trying to make the essay as fast as they can and be finish by the end of the class. I cannot do such task under the given time, but since the teacher gave us everything we need to know and what we will do for the whole semester. It is best to use them and be prepare for the class. Start with the essay before going to class. Consider it a homework of whatever we are going to do in the class. And like my friends we will breeze to this class with no headache involve

3rd day.

Our class have a new addition today which is Jared Cruz if I'm not mistaken, he's pretty shy that's why. We went online on our site and discussed about Descriptive Essay. Dr. Rivera then asked us to choose a topic we're comfortable on to write about. I had a hard time choosing my topic just because there's a lot to choose from! Though I ended up choosing Music as my topic. I hope I can narrow down my thoughts when it's time to do Draft 2. Haha.

Number 3

Today was an interesting day. We had to start on our first draft on descriptive writing. The topic of my descriptive writing is "My Honda". I chose this as my topic because i didn't know what else to write about!! Thank you, come again!! HAHA

Day 3

Today is another day of writing class and we have another new addition to the class. He's pretty shy but that's okay. We went over how to do a descriptive essay and we each picked a topic on what to write on. I got pretty stuck on what topic to choose from so i just chose rainy days. But im thinking of changing my topic again. Haha. We all split into groups and read each others essays and gave feedbacks on how the essay was and if there were anything to make it better.

Day 3

Today we learned about descriptive essays. Each of us need to choose a topic and write a desciptive essay. I'm not too sure with my topic. I'm trying to decide if I will change it again. Hopefully I can work on it more tonight.

Day TWO...August 25,2010

In today's class we read as a class what a Descriptive Essay is. Then we had to pick a topic to write about I picked to write about a happy moment in my life. After we picked our topic we had to start brainstorming. I started by making a list of the first things that came to my mind. Next I wrote down a few possible titles for my essay. Then started on trying to write it. Then we exchanged papers with our partners and edited them and commented on it too. Other then that the class today went well.

Day Two

August 23, 2010 was the second day of En100w class, which is actually the right class. Funny story; the first day of class I went to the wrong class time. Luckily it was the same class(EN100W), but just the wrong section. We're section 13 and I went to the section 11 class, I thought it was very funny that I got mixed-up with my schedule. But in doing so I missed my other class which starts at 6P.M.(same time as section 11). Getting back to today, we went over our calendar for the class and Dr.River explained each section on it. We then were given 40 minutes to complete a SERT practice test, looking forward to the up coming days for this class.

Day 2 en100w11

On a day two on my en100w11 we got to review our calendar of event for this class.I got to finally create my blogger and post some comment on what we did today.I got to take my fist test don't know what my score yet find that out on our next meeting which is Wednesday August 25,2010 @ 6:00 pm.Looking forward to our next meeting..

My First Day...IN EN100W...

Today was my first day in EN100W. We went over the course calendar on the website which covered until December. We also took the SERT practice test for about 45 min. I felt like I did pretty good on that test lets just hope so. When I was done with my test I had to create a gmail account for the blog, then I had to write a blog on todays class.

Evening Discussion

Tonight in class was very interesting .We talked about the things we were going to do in the coming months,I think this is going to be a very fun class. The teacher makes the time go by so smooth and easy. If going to school is this nice, I might just take more classes and who knows how far I'll go in education.

Well, today was the 2nd day of the class. We went over the calendar events with Dr. Rivera which covered all the way up to Dec. Soon after that we took a practice test, which kind of gave me a headache. I don't like to read and I don't like taking tests, especially those wording questions. As I get older, the brain doesn't seem to function right.

What we did today

Of course another day of class. one of many that i look forward too.... OK! so what we did today was, go over the EN100W Calendar of Events as well as the Writing Process. the first glance of it all seemed over whelming, but no worries just gonna keep an open mind and be positive...

Second day of school

Today was the second day of school, and I ended up walking in exactly at 6pm due to the annoying obstacle known as traffic. Anyways, we went over the class calendar and what we should expect to be doing in the coming months. When we were finish with that, we went over the 3 stages of the writing process.

Dr. Rivera explained to us that towards the end of the semester that we would take a test called SERT. She said that we would take a practice test to see where we are at on our English skills, and when we take the final SERT test it will tell us how much we have learned. The test consisted of 100 questions, and we were to finish it in 40 minutes. For the most part the questions were pretty simple, but there were a few that i had to think about because there seemed to be more than one correct answer. All in all, I hope i did well. We'll see when teacher-student meetings come around.

Second day of Fall semester 2010

Our second day of class, and boy did time seem to have passed by! I guess it's because (compared to the first day), it was a bit more productive. First off, we went through the calendar events, and what was expected for our fall semester. Then we took the SERT pretest, worth 100 questions, and it was pretty okay. Cant wait to start learning more then just the basics!

Second DaY

Second Day of class in EN100w. We Discuss about the schedules for the upcoming months. Then we read the Writing Process Sheet. After that we took a short quiz about grammars and stuff. I hope I did well in that quiz...

Reflection August 23, 2010

Today we took a SERT pretest. I don't know how well I did but I finished it. Thank God I am finished with it.Only many more days to go until this class is done with.Well I hope I passed that SERT pretest, and I hope to learn more from this class than that.

Sand Man

The Whole day was wet and really slow. To make everything worst is the room and the class was quiet. When i started to take the test where the only thing i can hear are people breathing and their pen moving. My eyes started to close and i almost fell asleep. Good thing no one notice. Pretty much i was half awake while i was taking the test. I hope i was not dreaming while i was putting down my answer. I hope i do not drool around this class and pass this class with flying colors

Another day of EN100

Today turned out to be interesting day, The rain, traffic and all the good stuff. In class we went over the calender events and the writting process sheet, after we went over that we took a SERT pre-test. And next class i believe we will do our first eassy.

On our second day of writing class, we have a new classmate and she works at onward, which is cool because she said she can give us hookups. We read the calender of events on what were going to do this semster and we read the writing process worksheet on how to write a paper. Then we took a sert practice test.

August 23, 2010

I think I did pretty alright in the SERT pre-test. It was pretty easy, but then again sometimes things aren't quite as they seem. I have a positive outlook on that testing though. Hopefully, it comes out the way I want it to. Honestly, the only challenge I have is that my contacts were irritating me which caused my eyes to get watery, and it also caused me to have a headache. So hopefully that problem didn't hurt my testing score.

this is the second day of class. everything went pretty smoothly. but then, our teacher tells us to log in to our computers and read our class calender. after reading our class calender, it looks like we will be having alot of homework. i hate homework. haha! later, we did this SERT test. 100 questions, fill in the blank. it was pretty simple. or i dont know. haha. this is my blog number 2. thank you for reading this. have a nice day :)

Today was a good day...

Today was a more productive day. Going through the calender of events made me feel more comfortable about what we are going to do. We took our SERT test which was a 100 question test. For the most part it was quite easy. There were parts of the test that seemed like a simple fill in the blank, but little did you know that it was a trick question. I can't wait to find out my results of the test, as well as seeing my improvement at the end of the semester.

2nd day.

Our 2nd day was pretty hassle-free. We signed into our website and went through the Calendar of Events. Dr. Rivera discussed the things we are going to do this semester. After that we took a SERT practice test and it has 100 questions. Pretty long but it's alright.

Another day, another lesson to learn

Class time once again, we just got done doing a practice S.E.R.T test. Strangely it seemed really easy, but of course I will not know how I did until the results are in. Before taking the test, we brushed up on what we will be doing this semester by looking at our calender that our teacher posted up on the blogger site. Next step ... well I'm just going to take it one class day and one blog at a time. Until then ... aloha!

Today's Experience

Today we went over our class calendar of events. Everyday we'll pretty much learn new things. I just hope I don't get stumped on the free topic days. Then, we took our Pre-Sert test. I actually thought it was going to be really hard, but it seemed pretty ok. It actually makes you think if your actually speaking correctly to people during everyday life. Overall, today went pretty well.

First day.

The first day turned out to be the best. Why? ..I've been wanting to attend college, and I'm finally doing it. Parking was a pain in the rear, but well worth it because I expected it and I liked it! The class EN 100w-11 turned out great. We got to know each other and our goals which is always a good thing, and I did my first essay in 7 years. What I expect of myself for taking this class? Is to better my writing skills and I know that Dr. Rivera will get me there.

What we did today.

What we did today is introduce ourselves, read the syllabus, and explained what were going to do in class. I don't really know anyone in this class, but i hope i can make new friends. I will learn something new in this class and be more open. I'm pretty nervous and i hope i will pass this class my first time. This is what we did today on our first day of college.

First Day of Class

Today class seemed very simple. We did the usual first day of class topics. We sat down, and waited a couple of minutes for the rest of the class to arrive. All students had to introduce & share something about themselves. We reviewed our class syllabus online & have our own class blog site. Now that we've learned a little about ourselves, and what to expect, I just hope for the best, & to pass with flying colors.

first day of school here at gcc. its crazy traffic outside earlier. having a hard time to find the room, asked some guys then they point me to the room. its pretty good in here. and ill be here awhile. thats it for now....

First day

First day of class started out like how any other class would on the first day. We started off by introducing ourselves to one another, reading the syllabus, and creating an account. Its been 2 years since i was in a classroom, and i am excited getting back to basics.

First day of english class.

Today was the first day of English class. We did what everyone does on the first day of school, introduce ourselves! After the introductions, we logged onto the class blog. There, we saw and went over the syllabus. Upon finishing the syllabus, we were asked if we had a gmail account. Those who didn't were asked to make one, and those who did were to wait for an invitation to the blog. We all accepted and were told to write blogs about our first day of class, which i am finishing right about now.

The sudden rush of a new semester

It is that time again, a time of backpacks, pencils, calculaters, and headaches. If you do not already know what I am talking about, it is another semester of school. A couple of days prior to today I was anxious to start this semester as a determined student to flow through the year with flying colors. Boy was I wrong! As soon as I walked into my first class I felt overwhelmed with the amount of work that my teacher was telling us we will be doing in the semester. I also had the urgency to leave class because of nagging feeling of having fun, I was not sure if it was because of that fact that my teacher was not as exciting as I thought a teacher would be or it was the fact that I was not ready just yet to put my freedom on hold. Now I am here in my second class inputting all of this for the world to see, funny is it not?! I am sure everyone knows how it must feel to start a new semester. What ever the case may be on why I felt that way I just have to remind myself that I'm here back in school fulfilling another semester, for a better future! Until next time bloggers ... Astalavuago! my first day. en100w

Today, we all had to stand up and introduce ourselves. "Hi, I'm Kevin, and I play tennis." Later, we all had to stand up and read each section out loud from our syllabus. I did not get to do so, because the syllabus ran out of sections. haha! Later again, we all had to make a gmail account. After the gmail account, i signed up for this blog, and now I'm posting this. Pretty interesting.

The First day of School

It was just another day for me due the different enviroment that i have been expose to, but looking the freshmen, (people just graduated from high school) its a different story for them. I saw a couple that are happy to see their friends and old classmate. Some are excited to learn and face what's the future have to to offer. Most of them looks like a lost kid wondering around a new place with a bunch of toys that they cant touch. All in all in the end of this day or somewhere at this semester, they will realize what they are really after in this school

Today in English 100 we did several things: We introduce ourselves, made new email with, we were given our syllabus, open a new blog and now were writing somethings on our blog for the class to read.

First day of classes

Today was the first day of class. The usual awkward silences, new faces, and introducing ourselves in front of the class. Although 90% of the class will not remember our names today, there will be many more days to get to know everyone! Hopefully I will learn something new and most importantly improve on my writing. I know everyone is nervous as much as I am and we all hope for a fun and exciting semester in EN100w.

What we did in class today

In EN100w-11, today we had class introductions, we went over the syllabus some of us read others just listened. Also, we learned what is to be expected over this semester. So nothing should really be surprising to say the least. And I have to say that I'm pretty much looking forward to this upcoming semester.

First Day of Class

Well the first day of class was the same old first day of class! Getting to know each other, introducing each other, reviewing the syllabus, making a G-mail, and also making a blog. This is my first time making a blog so I'm not really good at it. We were on the computer the whole day checking our blog site and we are basically going over everything that we are going to cover throughout this semester. This is my second time taking this class, so hopefully i pass out this class and begin EN110 class!

Today was the first day of the school. The class started out by introducing yourself to the others. We also went over the class syllabus, and I created another e-mail account called g-mail.

EN100W

First day of EN100W was today, we read the class syllabus and got invited to Blogger. Some of the students in this class I see around but do not know them. I am always excited to meet new people and new friends. I guess this web site is to blog our daily activities, so again excited because this is the first time that I will be writing blogs. This should be an interesting class, I do not know about the rest of my classmates.
