Finally we have finished the semester! Aren't you excited?! How did everyone did in the SERT test? I think I did okay. How chill was class? It was definitely slow. We had nothing to do that was due but to study and prepare for our exam. Hopefully, everything goes well and I do good in it. Hard to Breath

Today is the day that we got our title's for the final test. I think that i will be alright in the test but like always, I can't lower my guard until the test is finalized. So I think I'm going to go ahead and use what I wrote about on narrative essay because its my favorite pastime. Also I think i'm going to do the same with the issue on society. I guess it's the thought that this is what we've all been working hard for. This is the moment that we have to show what we've learned and apply it to the final composition. Was late today! Hotels at high occupancy because of two Japanese highs school here on a school trip. So, I was not able to her Dr. Baza-Cruz lecture about the preparation needed for the SERT exam and final essay. Well today assignment was to write an essay on three PROMPT question. Today I came to class a little bit early.And Dr.Rivera was explaining to us about the paper #3 PROMPT QUESTIONS.I got to review and look for some idea on the internet.Then Dr. Baza explained to us about our SERT exam and final composition. Today, Dr. Lisa Baza-Cruz had stopped by to do a run through about the finals. Next week we shall be getting our topics. Other than that I just tried to do the prompts, researched a little on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and that is pretty much all that happened tonight, see you guys on Wednesday.

Scared

I do not like what Dr. Baza said. I am not offended but knowing that the topic of the essay is something people generally knows about is scary. I rarely read the news paper, I do not watch the news, and have generally have no idea when it comes to our island. A down side of being ignorant. I am in trouble.

It’s been a really long day for me. So coming to class is always a good, winding down type of feeling. I double checked on my folder making sure I’m not missing any essays, 4 essays w/cover letters check! PDN Editorial check! Self reflection paper check! Done with that, so on with the next. A Day of Stress

Today we had Dr. Baza-Cruz come in class, she told us what to expect for the SERT and the final composition. Dr. Baza-Cruz said that she would give us three topic for the final and only two out of the three we would be able to pick. Well I'm really nervous and I don't know what to expect but I'm going to study my Ass off. Take Care and drive home safely class.

Man, I thought Dr. Rivera was hard, Dr. Baza is hard-core. She came into our class tonight and talked to us about the cert and the final composition. Now I know for sure, I'm not going to pass this class. Well at least we'll going to see the topics ahead of time. Hopefully I can picked the right one to study for it. Dr. Baza mentioned about cheating. Is bribering legal? Can I bring dozen donuts and offer some to instructor? Anyway, have a safe night.

Today I worked more on my argumentative essay. I find that this essay is the toughest ones of the four. It just takes more time to do more research.

One more month! I just hope I pass this class. All we did today was finalize our essay. The room was really quite as always. All I heard was the printer. I got sick again but it feels good knowing that I can rest tomorrow.

Today I did the revisions on my essay that Dr. Rivera gave me. Thankfully, they were minor errors. I am so relieved that I'm done with all my essays and I don't have to stress about them anymore. Now all I have to worry about is the final composition. I'm confident I'll do well on the SERT test, but I still need to brush up on some of my vocabulary.

Today in class I finally received my revision from Dr. Rivera! I was surprised to find not much corrections made, which means that my grammar and writing is improving. Thank goodness that there's no school tomorrow! I'm sure everybody is happy! I know I am! Spending time with my family and friends and enjoying some good barbecue.

Today's class was very productive, I finished up my argumentative essay on violent games causes violence, and I am very happy with it. It was funny listening to everyone freaking out about the vocabulary words. I tried doing it last week and surprisingly I did fairly well on it. I missed about 3-4 words only. All of that aside, I'm so glad that I'm done with all my essays. Happy belated birthdays Mark and Camarin!!

Today I worked on my argumentative essay. I really need to finish since its due today. Mr. Chen was evaluating the class, and heard we did a good job. Happy Birthday to all the November peeps!

First of all, I would like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EVERYONE, who either had one or coming up. Tonight I was working on the online vocabulary. I thought it was very easy because I haven't got any problems wrong, but then I found out that I was doing the elementary level questions. Then when I started to doing the right level, I was very shocked that didn't know too many of those words. I'm hoping who ever gives me the cert exam, give me the elementary level vocabulary words. Oh, well have a good night.

Good evening classmates! Feels good to finish my essay #4. So I moved on to doing the vocabulary building online activity! Boy, was that hard to do. I didn't even know 90% of the words! I finally finished my argumentative essay about Domestic Violence Against Men. I learned more than I actually expected and my perspective and respect for men have changed. Women aren't appreciative and thankful for having a partner who does nothing to harm then and rather keep them protected from all harm. Please stop all violence and love one another! Tonight is going by slowly. I'm getting over the flu and that's why I wasn't in last class time. Anyway, I've been doing the Vocabulary Building Online Worksheet all class time. Since, I am done with my fourth essay. I just received my revisions for the third essay and the midterm self reflection, which took longer than I had expected. Maybe it didn't go through the first time around. But, I know she had received my fourth essay since I sent them all around the same time. So now I'm just waiting for those revisions. I hope that doesn't need much revisions. Wish me luck!

Finally we've reached November! Few more weeks til the end of the semester! So today I started on writing essay #4. My argumentative topic is on Domestic Violence Against Men. I know that there are more reported cases of men against women, but I wanted to do something different and speak up for the men. I know a couple of guys who literally get beaten up by their girlfriends. A lot of people laugh about it and brush it off, but they don't realize that it is wrong on the woman's part and she should be treating men the way she wants to be treated in return! Just a thought for you folks! Have a great day!

Who went Trick or Treating last night? I only got 2 Dum Dum Lolly Pops and a small bag of Skittles last night. HAHA. Anyways, how was your day? Mine was alright. I think today went by pretty quick. Earlier today, I just installed my Skunk2 Adjustable Suspension to my car. Today is a test run and I found out that I need to make a little adjustments. Well, today's class was alright. I'm just working on my argumentative essay and that too needs a little adjustments as well. HAHA! To the person who asked, "what car do i drive?" I drive a 98 Civic Hatch :) Thank you, come again!

I was disappointed today, because nobody brought any halloween candies. I thought about bringing some in but I forgot, I already ate'em last night. I just got my number 4 essay, peer edited by Kevin. He's the man with editing. You know, as you get older, your brain doesn't seem to funtioning right.

My Day in Class

Today I did a lot of research for my 4th essay. I read up on the thing that I need to form my arguments. Also I looked over to my neighbor and watch her match up synonyms and wrote my subtopics that I am going to argue about. I'm already halfway with my fourth essay. I feel like my essay is going smoothly and I can't wait until I'm finished with it. Class was kind of sort for me on October 27, 2010. I had requested to leave because I was having some car trouble. It was good thing that she granted my request because I got stuck on the pago bay bridge for a long time. I called my father and asked him to bring a battery because the car didn't want to start. He came with the battery and we started it up and drove it home. As soon as I walked in the house and I had to walk right back out because my father had called my cousin and asked him to take a look a the car. We arrived at my cousins' house, my father and my cousin talked about the car. They talked and looked at the car for hours. It was good thing that Dr. Matilda allowed me to leave because we got home about 11:00pm that night. My car is still at my cousins' house up until now. I don't know when it is going to be fixed but i'm hoping before monday so I could attend class.

Today was not so bad! We went over the Argumentive guide, I started researching on my next essay and I turn in my narrative essay. I haven't found what I'm going to be writing about for my forth essay. I guess that all I have to share with you all today. Enjoy and drive home safely.

Today, we discussed our Argumentative Essay. This one seems pretty tough. I turned in my Narrative Essay today. Hopefully I did that correctly. The online practice for the SERT was pretty interesting. I liked it. Now I need to figure out my topic for my next essay.

Today, I received my essay revisions for my 3rd essay from Dr. Rivera and finished it. Now I'm starting with my 4th essay. This one will be easy. Overall, class was all good.

Blogging

I ordered a motor for my car 12 weeks ago and just picked it up earlier today. I am so happy. HAHA! Today's class was alright. It was really cold. It felt colder then the other class meetings. Now, I'm trying to figure out a topic for our last essay. Help me. HAHA!

Today we discussed the new essay. All I did today is look for the next topic for the essay. I am thinking to mess with the vegetarians or go pro with animal research. Both of them seem fun to write about and they are full of information that can easily be collected

Today we went over persuasive/argumentative essays. I have a lot of topics in mind, it's just a matter of deciding which one I want to write about. Should I write about "Violent video games cause behavior problems" or "Is the media and society concentrating too much on celebrities and the sexual things they do, rather than more important issues like, the war, natural disasters, or illnesses?" Help me decide please!

Today I finished up my narrative essay. Dr. Rivera told me that I forgot to attach my midterm to the email last week, so I need to re-email it back to her when i get home. I really liked my story for my narrative paper. It is a story that I made up and I think that it is pretty interesting. Hopefully, Dr. Rivera thinks so too!

I think tonight is kind of easy day. We read some stuff about argumentative essay and started to work on it. My topic? well I'm going with secondhand smoke. Man, I don't know what would I do, if there's no internet. If people need something, just google it and there you have it. Life's so easy now days. Thought about ordering essays on line, I think it cost like under 30 bucks. But it wont be fair, what am I gonna learn from that. Anyway, have a safe halloween. Don't eat all those candies, bring some to class on Monday.

Class was great! we went over our evaluation form/rubric guide. i finished with my arguementative essay last week, but as i was going over it i wasnt that satisfied with the information i gathered, so i redid the essay. all i need is a peer edit so i can email it to Dr.Rivera.

Today, I only attend half of the class session, work held me back a little later than usual. But I as able to catch up with the class we were completing our Narrative essays and now I am looking for a topic for my Argumentative essay. Until next time.

I just caught up with the class. Finally I can try to finish the rest of the of the essay. I hope all of us pass. If not, try taking the placement test again at GCC. A loophole that students figured out instead of retaking the class again.

Man, I didn't know that #3 essay was done today. I need to check the calendar more often. No sweat though, I e-mailed to Dr. Rivera. I hope she likes it. She must have received many essays. She hasn't said anything to me yet whether she received it or not. Probably better off reading mine at home, that way she could fall asleep reading it. Where did the time go?! One minute I'm just starting on my essay now finishing it up it's almost time to go. Tonight went by super fast to me. I wrote almost two full pages on my argumentative essay, it was pretty easy for me to write. I hope all of you had an easy night like mine. Good Night!

Today, we worked on our "MID TERM". Writing this essay had a great impact on how I thought what a "good essay" really was. In high school I always thought my essays were grade "A" worthy, because I got "A's" in most of them. But, when I started GCC it totally changed my perspective in writing I started to notice my grade "A" essays in high school were "incomplete" essays at GCC. So, I really hope my writing has improved this semester.

I feel sick.

All we did to day is type, type, and type some more. Since I missed the Monday class i had to suffer and do all of self-reflection under a hour. I do not know but I think the keyboard clicking is getting to me too. My heads hurt cause of the sound.

Once I got into class, I reviewed my Midterm Self-Reflection Essay, fixed whatever error's I could find and sent it to Mrs. Rivera. Out of all things I forgot to change the title, so I had to resend it. Once that was done, I continued working on my Narrative Essay. Hopefully I'm doing this right and finish it on time. Today, I found someone to peer edit my narrative essay. There must be many mistakes. I gave him the paper two hours ago, but haven't got it back yet. It'll be nice if he retypes the whole essay for me. I also e-mailed my mid term paper to Dr. Rivera. I was being very honest. I hope Dr. Rivera sees it and just give me an "A". Lastly, I had to pick a topic for my argumentative essay. Took me whole class time and still haven't come up with one yet. I still have time so I'll do some more research and I'll come up with one. Tonight we talked about the midterm self reflection and it was due tonight. I've completed the work can't wait to move on to the next assignment. Taking this class has given me a better understanding on improving my typing skills. I 'm not to good in typing ,but as I continue to move forward in this class. I think my typing skills will start to improve.

Today was a good day. Despite having only one hour of sleep, I have decided on a topic to write about for my narrative essay. I haven't written much, but since I know what it is going to be about, it'll be easier to write. I need to do my midterm exam at home tonight so i can turn it in on Wednesday. Today, was a good day. I was not able to attend last class, I had to attend a "travel fair" for work. So, Dr. Rivera had asked me to write a reflective essay on my experience at the travel fair. It should be an easy essay I found the fair very interesting but, I did hate having to say "Hafa Adai, my name is Claudette and I'm from the Onward Beach Resort" I think I said it over 50 times. We back to EN-100 class was great I had my narrative essay peer edited and sent it off to Dr. Rivera. Now it's time to start on my midterm "Self Reflection" essay. Good luck everyone..

In Class

In Class my stomach was hurting through out the whole time. I had a surgery and it starting to acting up. Anyways today I started my midterm and reflection paper. I'm just about finished with it to. I hope I could finish the paper because my stomach is starting to hurt really bad, and I don't know what tomorrow bring. Maybe I might asked someone to drop my midterm and reflection paper in. Today was an alright day. I washed my car earlier today. It was so clean and nice. Then is rained! Why does this always happen to me? Haha. Well, today's class was alright. I finally found a topic to write about. The tittle is, "My First Quarter Mile Race." I'm just starting on it. Haha! How was your day, people?

Today was a day dedicated to writing our essay again. I made some revisions to mine nothing major though. I also started to write my Mid-Term Self-Reflection I wrote about a page and a half so I'm almost done :)

Tonight, I started to write my midterm self reflection essay. I just followed the instructions from the class blogger. If I didn't lie a little, I would have given myself an"D-". I don't think my essays are interesting. Even I sometimes fall asleep writing about it. I just hope I get at least an "C". Oh and for my third essay, just need to find somebody to peer edit, somebody who will not fall asleep reading.

Make up blog for missed class

I tried to finish my third essay so I can email it to Dr. Rivera to revise it. But I cannot do the closing part of my essay. Anyways, I heard from Dr. there is a tropical storm coming in Guam. Just be prepared and be safe out there.

Today in class was pretty alright. We just continued our 3rd essay or for some just finishing their 2nd essay. My topic is "Most Memorable Trip". I have so much to tell but I can't put it in words. My aching brains. I can't believe that my brains is hurting this much from thinking. Today I tried to finish my third essay but I just couldn't decide what I want to say as my ending. I don't know why I have such a problem staying focus in class. I think it's the sound of the fingers hitting the keyboards that bother me so much. Well I guess that's it for the day.

All of us were doing the narrative essay, Dr. mention something about the typhoon, But all I can think of is the school work I have to do and submit. I just hope that typhoon gets stronger and hits Guam so all the class with be canceled and I will have more time for the homework, but that will be selfish. I have to think positive. I have to think that I can finish everything up!We got this Guam! This will be like the Picture!

Tropical STORM!

Doctor says that there might be a tropical storm tonight or tomorrow morning. I hope it doesn't hit Guam. Well, today was a slow day for me. I came in late because I was on Jury Duty. Now I have to get an excuse letter from the court for being late. It's all good though!

Today was a good day. I got my revisions for my informative essay and only had to correct one thing, which is good. I still have no idea what my narrative essay is going to be about. I have a few ideas in my head so maybe by the next class meeting I would have narrowed it down to one.

Another easy day. I was working on my narrative essay. I was writing about the time I got dropped out from the school. I can't write the reason here, people might get the wrong idea about me. What happened today is I started on my narrative essay and I'm nearly almost halfway there. Not much of our classmates came to class today. Probably because they thought it was a holiday.

Today, I mainly worked on my editorial and deciding what topic to choose for my Narrative essay. I found it a little difficult to write my editorial. I'm so used to describing or telling a story, I almost forgot how to give my opinion. I've completed the editorial and also submitted my second essay. Since Friday, I've been checking my e-mail hoping, classes will be cancelled for today. I did receive one from my keyboarding class being cancelled but didn't receive one from Dr. Rivera. Today isn't a good day, my whole body's hurting especially my legs. I did two 5k run this weekend and now I'm paying the price. Anyway, tonight I was writing or at least I was trying to write something about the narrative essay. My topic is "school drop out". No, I'm not talking about dropping out of from GCC. Today, was a cold and rainy day. But, what would you expect! I guess Guam has rainy season all year around instead of seasonally. Well anyways back to EN-100. Class was great, I was able to finish up my narrative essay first draft.  Surprisingly I was able to "flow" better with the narrative essay. Maybe because narrative essays are more about the personal side of the writer. Well until next time :D

Still searching for an arguementive topic. this should be easy, i guess im just making it more complicated then it should be. however, i will have a topic soon and essay four will be done. I really enjoy the writing process and sharing the stories with the exception that i dont have to present it in front of the class. hopefully not, right. ok class its been along monday for me, and this weather calls for chalakilis. i have to find a store that has it. these are the days i wish i would have paid attention to your neighbors cooking. enjoy the weather everyone.

Today was a great day! I finished up my essay and my editorial with 20 minutes left in class to spare. I had a rough start on my essay, but I was able to finish it up in time so I'm happy. Hopefully when Dr. Rivera makes the corrections there won't be too many. Now on to my third essay.

Today, was very slow. I was not able to finish up my "Narrative Essay" I forgot my flashdrive at work. So, instead I read articles and more articles till it was time to go home. Today was alright, I helped one of my classmate's editorial essay which was on same sex marriage and it was hard because that is a hard topic to write about. but it seems as though the class is getting smaller, or maybe their sick or something came up i do not know for sure, but kinda miss thee big class. Anyways I just sent my final draft essay #2 today with my editorial essay about secondhand smoking affects us non-smokers. So i am down to my last essay which is narrative essay and i am going to right about a more sensitive topic about relationships between a male and female. that's all and good night... and kev stop wasting paper!!!! go green dude lol...

Today class was great! just emailed my second essay to Dr.Rivera. thanks again to the guy next to me for the peer edit, alot of correction needed, my fault had little time for computer access at home and i rushed though it with out rereading it. corrections were made thou, so hopefully that essay is finished, i'll soon find out. now i can relax abit and have time to think about my final essay topic. have a great week everyone.

A New Day

Today was a pretty learning full. I learn somethings on the internet, like how they used comma back then. I also edited someone's paper. I hope that I did a good job on it because I don't want to be messing up people. Anyways I need to come up with a topic for my 3rd essay, so I'll see you all later.

Man! you know what I found out? I found out that next Monday's not a holiday. Every where else's off except for GCC. Oh, well. Anyway, tonight's slow easy night. Since I finished with my second essay, I have nothing to do except for woking on my third essay. For the first half an hour, I was thinking about what am I going to write about?. If I write something about me, then it'll be very boring, I don't want Dr. Rivera to fall asleep reading my essay. She'll just give me an "F". Whew! Today was a race on finishing up my informative essay. After a week of having only a paragraph, I was able to write up to a page and a half today. Just 2-3 more paragraphs and I'm done! Then I have to stress about the editorial. I don't think I ever worked this hard in class before...

Today was pretty crazy. I can not believe that people would say things that never came out of my mouth. I mind is kind of spinning out of control right now. Anyways the rest of the day went alright, I finished my final draft for my 2nd essay, and I'm done with my editorial paper. Now I have to read into our next essay (narrative). I think I'm going to have a lot of fun doing research find out what a narrative essay is all about. Well I have a lot of work to do, I'll see you all next time.

I re-did my whole essay. Because what I'm working this past few weeks is a narrative essay!!!. (I thought we are doing narrative) Anyways is all good because I can use that on our third essay. Overall the class was ok.

So, today I finished up my informative essay and turned in my editorial. The editorial was rough, to me writing an editorial was a mix or informative and narrative writing styles. It was frustrating! However I'm done and now I get to start on my narrative essay, haven't  decided a topic yet but I have till Wednesday to decided. Well till next time..

The class went over the editorial and our number two essay. But i had to redo my essay about abortion because i was being to opinionated about it. and i had to think up about what to wirte, and i chose to write about the origins of jiu-jitsu. and im stuck on the editorial essay. alright folks till next time.......

What I did in class today was continue working on my expository essay, which is going pretty slow at the moment. I spent too much time on another topic which turned in to a narrative essay instead of the expository essays. But it's ok. It will get done.

Tonight's is an outstanding night. All I have to do is edit what Dr. Rivera made corrections on. After that I'll be able to go home. It's my girl's birthday and got a permission from Dr. Rivera to excuse myself. Well classmates, have a wonderful night.

Today, I just found out that I have to redo my expository essay. I am a little disappointed about it, but at least I am able to use it for the narrative essay. Some of us brought our editorials. Everyone mostly got theirs off of the internet. So far, I still need to complete my second essay. I need to restart the first essay. Then I need to start on the editorial. Lots of work! Hopefully I finish everything in a timely manner.

Happy Wednesday! Today we went over our editorial articles that we brought in. I'm excited to start on my own but I'm not sure yet what topic I want to talk about. But as of now, I have to finish off my informative essay on "Driving under the influence." I know I won't be able to finish my rough draft in class so I would have to take it home and finish it up. Hurray for homework!

Today we went over editorials and Dr. Rivera asked us to come up with our own editorial. I have no idea what I'm going to write about. It's going to have to wait for the weekend because I'm having a really hard time on finishing my essay. My topic is fairly easy, but for some reason it's just not coming to me. Words need to start flowing because the essay due date is coming up quickly.

A Day of Learning

Today, in my English writing class we learn a little something about editorials. I'm not really sure what it will consist of but I think that I am going to have to due a lot of researching. Today I also did some more writing on my essay. I hope to have both my essay and editorial papers finished by Saturday or Sunday. Well that's how my day of learning in class went. See you later!

Well since I missed the last class I'm still working on my 2nd essay. I did some brainstorming and researching today. I decided to write about Teen Pregnancy. I've been reading all about it I can't believe how much the teen pregnancy rate has gone up. I need to finish my brainstorming, and class is almost over.

I thought I would be lost due to the fact that I missed last class, but it seemed that I didn't. We had to search for an editorial to help us with the editorial we needed to turn in next week. Tonight , we talked about writing a editorial article. Each person has to write about their own article about something. I always have hard time to picking up a topic. I need at least one week to think, but the time is something that I don't have. Well since I was absent last class, I was lost for a whole half hour in the class. We discussed the editorial, and now we have to write one that is due at Wednesday. I have no idea what to write about Guam. Can someone please brain storm for me? Dr. Rivera also read my essay to check if I have to make another one. Thank goodness that I was on the right track.

Class today was great. We talked about our expository essays, and talked a bit about editorial as well. Even though I thought I would be finished with the expository essay. It turns out I made it into a narrative essay instead, which of course is still fine. It's an essay completed in advance. So now I'm just gonna work on my expository essay. Today, was an exhausting  day for me. Work was hectic then driving to school traffic was crazy, then trying to find parking was frustrating. But overall class was okay, we continued our informative essay plus we had our one to one evaluation with Dr. Rivera. So until next time...

Today we had a teacher-student conference, and my meeting with Dr. Rivera went well. So far I am doing really well in class, but I can still make room for improvements. I guess I just have to try a little bit harder. Anyways, I continued on my informative essay, and I made some progress. My essay is now a paragraph long! I now have a better idea on how I would like my essay to be, so it's a little bit easier writing the rest of the essay. Hopefully, next class meeting I'll be able to write at least half of my essay.

Tonight, we had teacher and student conference. So far, I'm doing ok but need to work little more harder. I barely passed the first sert exam, and I'm hoping to bring the score up. Other than that, the night went pretty smooth. Well until next time, later

Monday, 9/27/10

Today I had a one to one conference with Dr. Rivera. She showed us our practice test that we took a couple of week ago. I didn't do that bad. I just wish I did better! I'm so stumped with ideas for my expository essay. I'm thinking of changing my topic. There isn't much information online and a lot of my essay idea's are just from brainstorming on my own. Hopefully things turn out in the end.

Well today was a pretty alright day. We had the teacher student conference and I need to make some improvements. I hope by the end of the semester my grade for the sert test goes up.

Tonight we talked about expository essay .I feel alot better after talking with the teacher on the best way to write the essay. I can't wait to start writing for the next project, it's going to be interesting.

Today is conference day. Just finished my conference, and I was told that I am doing a good job. And I get to start on my third essay since I am waiting on my edits from Dr. Rivera, I don't know what I'm going to write about just yet.

Today went well! Dr. Rivera went ahead and lent me a copy of an informative essay, so I could use it as a guide line. I hope it helps me out better my writing skills. Not to mention I got a C grade for my practice SERT exam. Dr. Rivera said that I passed it and I need to work on my subject verb agreement. Anyways I feel a lot better than the last class time. Last class I felt like quitting because I didn't have a clue how I was going to start my essay. Today I change my old introduction after looking at some of the sample essays Dr. Rivera showed us. Now that I have a tutor I could ask questions if I get lost on some things... Well nothing else to do now but write, write and write some more... See you all later!

We have a conferencing going on, while I'm trying to edit my 2nd essay. Just waiting here to be called by Dr. Rivera. I keep on yawning, the air-con really makes me sleepy. So far the class is all good.

It's Monday again! We're doing our conference right now (teacher-student), I'm still waiting for my turn and see what Dr. Rivera has to say. Well I did my 2nd essay already. I did a paper talking about the importance of personal hygiene. It's not bad, I find it pretty interesting. Oh well, don't forget the editorial on Wednesday guys! Adios. :)

Today was suppose to be the first time we start working on our second essays, but a few of us have already started. So far I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what to write. Every time I type something it feels as if I'm copying it from the articles I have, so I have to erase the whole sentence and think on how to word it so that it's my own. I have a general idea of what i want on my essay and how where things go, its the finding words that is a problem. I hope it gets easier as time passes by.

Today was pretty slow for me, but i enjoyed every moment of it. i'm just about done with my second essay. cant wait for the next. i hope your all doing well with your essays. have a great weekend, and be safe.

Trouble, Trouble,Trouble.

Wow! I 'm really having trouble putting together my 2nd paper. I'm try to attach some of my subtopic with what I found in the my site, and I can't seem to do just that.Also I have a headache and I starting to feel like I want to give up and leave this class. To tell you the truth I never really felt as stupid, until i've started this second paper. Anyways I got to go write on other people's blogs, so I'll write you all later.

Class went pretty smooth tonight. When I got in, all I did was work on my second essay. I finished with my introduction, but still on the verge of doing the rest. Although, I am glad I found a topic! It took me a while, but I came up with one. Hopefully i get to finish it by this week. I hope with my work and gym, I wouldn't get carried away. Until next time blog!

Finally and finally, I'm done with my first essay. I'm guessing I'm one of the slowest person writing an essay. My second essay is coming along well. I mostly copying from the aticle and I hope Dr. Rivera doesn't say much. Well it's the weekend, enjoy your weekend.

Today, I continued on my second paper. Edited another paper, re-edited my paper yet again. And currently, I am about to e-mail my draft to Dr. Rivera. Hopefully it does not need much revisions. That is pretty much it with what I did today. Have a great weekend everyone. :)

Today we continued working on our informative essay. Ms. Rivera had sent my draft for my descriptive essay. I needed to make the final corrections and turn it in. I had finished all the corrections, saved it, and sent it to my email. When I checked my email, for some reason it didn't save properly. So had to redo it. I made sure I didn't screw that up again. Finally, I turned it in and I'm going to start continuing on my second essay.

Narrative

Today was a bit different for me. I did not have my USB. I left it to my last work. Well today I read the narrative essay. It sound pretty easy that means I am about to mess this one up. But the best part of this essay is I can make a fiction narration of something that never exists

Well today went by pretty fast, probably because I was late for class. Haha. Well Dr. Rivera said it was ok for us because we were here ever since we just didnt know if our teacher was here because my classmate said there was a sign on the door to go to another room. Today was the last day to submit our descriptive essay. I finished making the corrections on mine so I'm happy! I'm slowly adding onto my Informative essay about the causes of Diabetes. It's coming along slowly, but at least I'm getting somewhere so that's good.

Is it just me or are the chairs in this class super uncomfortable? Just a random thought...Well hope everyone has a nice day!

finally finished my essay .Tonight we talked about another topic expository essay it sounds like one of those lab reports you get at the hospital scary,but I think it's going to be interesting.Im not quite sure what to write about anyways I'll figure it out

Today we had to submit our final draft. Don't know what topic i will use for my expository essay. Might consider construction traffic in between  route 8,10, and 16. Well i gotta choose something soon. Class is going by too fast to me. Only if I had a little more time, in my free time to actually stop and think about my assignments. Wow, today went by quick. I started working on my second essay. Still waiting for Dr. Rivera to give me back my first one. I'm hoping she doesn't destroy me that bad. I'm really suck on writing, I mostly write the way I speak. Well except I don't use the curse words in writing. Anyway, for the second essay, I'm writing about sushi, even though I really don't like fishes. The only raw fish I could eat is tuna and maybe salmon depends on my mood of that day. Today Class

Today in class, I started my second essay. My topic is on beer. I think that my essay is going alright so far, but I only got as far as my introduction. I am also thinking that I might have a little problem making a good introduction. well anyways my essay is not due for a couple of days, so I have the time to figure it out... wish me luck people!

Finally!

Today we just checked our calendar then Dr. Rivera let us do our first draft for whole class. I just got done with my First essay! Party to night in my house! Well lan party anyway. I finally decided a topic for my new essay. I was going to pick "monkey" but I just ended up with platypus because they are more interesting for my perspective. Today went by really fast at least to me it did. I printed out my final draft for paper number one. Finished up my first draft for paper number two. I also, was researching some information on my topic. I printed out my first draft so I can re-read it, to see if I had any errors. After that I re-edited my paper and that is pretty much it. :)

Today, our final draft is due. I had turned in mine last night. Hopefully it's not that bad.. We also had to provide our topic for our expository essay. I hope I don't have to change mine. It seems to be going well so far.

Basically all we did today was finish up our first paper, and start on our second. As for me, i am still waiting for Dr. Rivera's revision. I was stressing out at first because i still had to finalize my first essay, and i was completely blank with what i wanted to write about my second. Continuing my essay

Today we're continuing our second essays. I'm still not a hundred percent sure that the topic I have chosen is something I really want to write about. It is a topic that I find very interesting and grown to love but I still do not feel strongly about it. Until I do figure it out, I will be back to fill out another blog.

So, today we went over revising our papers, and making corrections. It was helpful because it gave us a list of questions to answer to make sure our paper was good. Anyways, I spent the class time doing research on the causes of diabetes, so next class period I'll start on the actual paper. Dr. Rivera sent me her corrections for my descriptive paper, and I'm glad she said that i was descriptive! So I just need to do a few corrections and I'm done!

Lost And Must Be Found

Today we discussed the some new way to correct our essay. I also decided that I need to change my topic. The last topic is too much trouble when it comes to giving the facts.,

We discussed about Revising and Editing. Then started to do our 2nd draft. Overall the class was good.

Title Trouble

I am having trouble with what to use as my title, mainly because their are no proven fact on Alcohol. I thinking that it might be better if I change it. I really don't like the hassle of all the research I have to do before I find something to write about.

What did I do today? Oh, I was trying to finalyze my first essay and tried to find a topic for my second essay. While I was trying to finalyze my essay, I didn't like what I wrote, so I started to redo the whole essay again, but I realized that, it's going to take a long time. So I decided to stick with the one I got and I'm going to let Dr. Rivera to be a judge. And topic for the second essay, I still don't have one yet. If I leave without telling Dr. Rivera, I'm sure I'm going to hear about it. Maybe I just write down something and next meeting when I come, I just change it. Have a nice weekend.

Tonight in class finally finish my essay and we talkrd about editing and revising learning alot about writing . How you talk and how you put it on paper are two different things .I fine it very interesting ,this class is going to fun for me .

Today, we reviewed "Revising and Editing" it was quick, after that I tried to finish up my informative essay. Our second essay but my head wasn't really in it today. Dr. Rivera got the whole class reading a link to "Revising and Editing". Although, the only thing in m head is turning in my descriptive essay. I feel so delayed! Next, she got us working on our second essay which is our informative essay (expository essay). I have yet to find a topic and have yet to start. Gosh, with work and school, i need a miracle! Hopefully i get a lot of things done over the weekend.

I finally came to class early for change! Anyways, we went over controlling ideas and how to organize and support them. We each read a paragraph and Dr. Rivera explained each paragraph a little bit. She then told us to continue with our descriptive essays. If we were done with them, then we were to come up with topics for our informative essay. I honestly had a very hard time coming up with something to write about. I browsed through the internet to get some sort of inspiration on what to write and decided that I'd write about the causes of Diabetes. Let's hope that writing about it won't be as hard as coming up with the topic!

Today we went through Thesis statement and Controlling idea as a class. It informed us many points in helping us write a great informative essay. I thought it was very helpful. I'm actually very excited to start on my new essay about "Driving Under the Influence." I hope it gives many good points out to those who commit such behavior. At the same time, I'm learning many new laws I didn't know about and statistics that were way beyond my knowledge.

Today we read as a class about Thesis Statements and Controlling Ideas. Some of us continued our essays and some are already starting on the next one. I am not quite done with my first essay. Every time I read it, I want to change something and then when I change it I end up adding more to it. I think I’m going to do one last revision then I’m going to finalize it. Other than that, today’s class is going by pretty fast. Oh and I need to start thinking about my topic for the next paper.

Second Essay?, Man, I haven't done with first one. Can't think straight right now. I probably have to go home, and do some research about what topic am I going to choose. I just need to find something about something. It's been a long day, well actually, it's been a long couple of weeks. I've been very busy with work and wasn't really thinking about any class works. Today, we discussed thesis statements, controlling ideas, and organizing & developing support. I chose a topic for the informative essay, started on my first draft wrote about one and a half pages already. So I'd have to say today's class session was a success. The only thing that was a downfall is that my keyboard has slowed me down. I have to keep pressing letters down twice to make sure it types the letter that I want. So I decided to finish the rest of my essay at home.

2nd Essay Topic

Today, we went through some of the things that you need to preform when you write an informative essay. We also learn about writing and controlling ideas, thesis, and strategies. I think it's great i am actually getting the concept in writing. I wish I had more time to remember everything. well that's about it for the day, with the exception of working on our second essay.

Second Essay

I am debating with myself if i should write a informative essay about the drinking age law that was recently pass by Guam government. I do not know if I should go pro for the new drinking age since I do believe that the new law is a bit redundant but then again the new law has its own benefit. suggestion to which one will be very much appreciated

Class was good, im just about done with the first essay. just a few corrections that need to be fixed. still undecided for my next topic.

Today I finished up my descriptive essay. I wasn't here the last class meeting, so I was a little bit lost. It feels like its been forever since I've been here! Today I just continued write and edit my essay. Since I wasn't able to come to class last week. I did my editing on just on word. But I mostly did more writing today adding on to my essay. I also think that time went really fast in tonights class. Other than that I hope to finish this essay tonight so that I can have it revised one more time before I submit it as my final paper. Class was GREAT tonight!

Today, we discussed run on sentence. Thankfully I didn't have any on my final draft. Anyways, we discussed how to correct run on sentences and how to distinguish them on our essays. Also, we received our final edit from Dr. Rivera I had a couple of errors but "I am done". Now I can start on my Informative essay, I choose to write about the Seven Wonders of The Ancient World. Editing Essay's

Today I edited someone's essay. I found out that editing isn't that easy. I hope that some could give me advice on how to use the correct punctuation, so I could be a better writer.

One Of Those Days

Everything I did for the whole day went to the bottom of my feet then and dragged me down to hell. For this class, i left my USB to the lab and i hope my friend kept it safe for me. If not then I'm doomed! I got to rewrite everything to scratch.

Today, we discussed run-on sentences. We also were told we can choose an informative essay topic, and I finished up my descriptive essay draft. Class felt like it went by a little fast today. But, that was probably just me.

Today was pretty alright, pretty boring too. Haha. Well today i just surfed the internet looking for my next topic for the informative essay and no luck. Too many too topics to choose from and it's giving me a headache. Oh well, i still have a lot of time looking for a topic so until laters, Esta!

Wednesday

Today, I had a partner proof read my essay. I rushed through the essay and made quite a few mistakes. My partner did pretty good to me. Now, I just need to fix all the errors I made, to finalize my paper. Next, we need to choose another topic, for our informative essay next week.

Tonight was fun the class went very nice we talked about the work we will be doing in the coming months .I can't wait to get started writing is fun if you know how to put the words in the place. oh yeah spelling helps.

Part Two "Peer Editing" :D

Today, was part two of editing our descriptive essay drafts.  We all paired up with our partners and "peer edited", thankfully I had only a couple of grammatical errors. But, you'll never know! Dr. Rivera will be editing our "peer edits" and will find out next class if we did really well.  Till next class.. :D

Today wasn't bad, we went over some common mistakes people make in writing. After that, we continued on essay. I did edit some but don't know if I edited right or not. I'm pretty sure, there's going to be tons of mistakes. I guess, that's why I'm here to learn.

Wednesday (cose)

Today Dr. Rivera went through some of the common mistakes that people make in grammar.
Some of it seem a bit confusing but after I read it a couple of times I think I will catch on. Also we did some editing on our essay. I was getting a little frustrated, because I wasn't sure if I made the correction, correct.

Another Day

Dr. Rivera discussed the newly posted things that can help us in our essay. I think it will be a big help because I think I did not do a good job on my essay. I must try harder to make myself better on this class.

5th day.

First day of September!!! Haha I just had to say it. We finished our draft 3 today and emailed it to Dr. Rivera. Or should I say we are supposed to be done with our draft 3 today so we can send it to Dr. Rivera and she can revise it. Haha either way, I hope I get a good feed back on mine. :) Have a good weekend guys!

Class today was good, although i must say it is freezing in here atleast to me it is, dont get me wrong i love it when i rains, but only while im home, not out and about. i like this class and i enjoy doing the essay. even though im off on alot of commas, periods etc. its a learning process.

Another cold day of class

Today we reviewed the common mistakes in writing and how to avoid making tricky choices while writing. Then we revised our essays and when we were done correcting it we sent it to our teacher. Well, thats it for today until then, latersss! Im freezing in this class right now.

Well today i had a stressful day at work don't want to talk about because it's stupid. Anyways i got to work on my essay at work.I plugged in my last paragraphs. Then i had my classmate check it and found a mistake. so i did the correction and emailed it to Dr. Rivera. hoping its all good...

Day 5

Day 5 here in EN-100w-11. What we did today was, We Discuss the Common Mistakes of English Grammar, Mechanics, and Punctuation. Then We continue to edit our drafts. Overall the class is all good.

Another day with mother nature.

For the past few nights I have been spending it awake. Sleep really late and go in and out of sleep the next day. I am not too sure if it is because of the amount of stress that has been placed over me or it is the weather. The mornings are shinnier then ever and nights are the complete opposite. Except for today, today Mother Nature decided to make up her mind and let it rain all day. For my fear of getting into a car crash, which by the way I nearly got into so many on the way here. I layed in bed deciding if I should attend class or not. But some phobia's I have to say does not count as an excuse. (Giggles) So I'm here now blogging in class. We learned about Common Mistakes in Writing, (giggles) something I sure know so much about, well I sure do a lot of it anyway. So with the link that our professor has provided to us, I can now sound a little bit smarter with the help of it. (giggles) Well as soon as I get use to it. Well bloggers until another entry ... Today we continued our rough drafts in class. I only had half a page, so I had a lot of work to do. The first twenty minutes I had a tough time thinking about what to write, but after reading my entry over and over, I finally was able to have a more constant idea on how to write my paper. Halfway through class, Dr. Rivera told us that two dates on our class calendar would change and that she would make the changed on the schedule. Now that class is ending I have almost 3 pages for my descriptive essay, so that means I'm almost done!
